Takraw USA is a web site dedicated to promoting the extreme sport of Sepak Takraw, otherwise known as Takraw, in the USA. A traditional Southeast Asian sport, Sepak Takraw combines elements from soccer, volleyball, net footbag, gymnastics, and martial arts. In addition to informing others about the unique sport of Sepak Takraw, the Takraw USA web site also serves as a space for the Takraw community in the USA to get together and share ideas.__________________________________________________________________________________________

SEPAK TAKRAW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - KING'S CUP 2009
The U.S National Sepak Takraw Team is sending players to represent the USA at the 24th King’s Cup Sepak Takraw World Championship in Bangkok, Thailand from July 2-7, 2009. The international event is hosted by the Takraw Association of Thailand. Minimum qualifications to compete on US National Team:
1.) Permanent Resident/U.S. Citizen
2.) Intermediate or higher level of Sepak Takraw skills
3.) Sepak Takraw competition experience
USA TAKRAW ASSOCIATION FUNDRAISING EVENT JUNE 5, 2009
The USA Takraw Association organized a fundraising party to raise money to support Sepak Takraw players to compete at the Sepak Takraw US Open in Minnesota from July 4-5, 2009 and to support Sepak Takraw players to compete at the international level for the 24th King's Cup Sepak Takraw World Championship in Bangkok, Thailand from July 2-7, 2009. International Lao New Year Festival 2009 Featuring Sepak Takraw
The USA Takraw Association and Team USA hosted a Sepak Takraw demonstration, workshop, and exhibition game at the first International Lao New Year Festival at the Civic Center in San Francisco, California, USA on April 11, 2009. A large crowd came to support the event, and the demonstration and workshop were a big success. The USA Takraw Association would like to thank the organizing committee of the event, the Center for Lao Studies, the Laotian American National Alliance (LANA), the Lao Heritage Foundation, and all sponsors for making this great event happen. Beach Takraw

The tournament included Men's Regu which allows 4 players in a team. One player is a substitute. The winner of the tournament will take cash home. Uniform was required in the games.
